Al Forno
Overview
Al Forno, a major gourmet brand in Lebanon was looking to introduce delivery services via a mobile app. The goal was to create a seamless, intuitive experience that reflected the brand’s premium positioning while simplifying ordering, account management, and in-app promotions.
Type
Product Design // F&B, E-Commerce
Scope
Product design, UI design, design system, iconography, UX strategy & research, information architecture, dev handoff documentation.
Design Approach
The app needed to balance two things that can pull against each other: premium brand expression and mass-market usability.
Structurally, the app was organized to minimize decision fatigue. Categories surface immediately, the cart and checkout flow are linear and transparent (delivery details, payment method, promo codes, order total, all in one view), and the order tracking screen gives the user enough information to feel in control without overwhelming them.

Icons & Colors
The icon system specifically was designed to carry that warmth. Icons built from soft geometry with subtle 3D shading and rounded edges. The result feels crafted and human, not clinical.
The pink accent tone was pulled directly from the brand palette, grounding every UI element in something familiar to Al Forno's existing identity.

UX & Iterations
The project opened with a brand exploration phase. Understanding where Al Forno sat visually before any design decisions were made. A competitive audit benchmarked local and regional F&B apps.
Stakeholder questions were documented and submitted to align on the product's goals and constraints early. From there: moodboard, IA, user personas, user flows, and sketches.
UI design progressed through multiple layout iterations, with parallel development of the icon system and design system.
